Full Moon Incense

Once a month we make incense to celebrate the full moon. We use natural ingredients such as resins, woods, herbs and dried flowers. Adding and graining the different ingredients is relaxing and magical at the same time.

For today's full moon we mixed and grained;
2 parts sandalwood
1 part mastic
1 part myrrh
and a handful of dried rose petals.

It makes me very happy to witness my son discovering the different fragrances and enjoying the special mood of making incense together.
Watching the smoke and enjoying these wonderful ancient scents is such a lovely experience.

Tickle the Senses

Fresh flowers  and fresh organic herb plants in the kitchen are very appealing to children. Flowers are magical because of their wonderful fragrance and beautiful colours. And herbs are perfect for carefully tasting, rubbing between the hands or making herbal tea.

A pot with different herb plants on the table during lunch with slices of cucumber and tomato is still a feast for my family. And for my favorite mint tea; add a few fresh and lightly crushed mint spriggs to a cup of rooibos tea. (this tea is cold also delicious and is a good alternative for fruit juices)

Flowers are such a feast for the senses and I always enjoy their presence in a room. Our son's favorites these days are Hyacinths. Their colours and strong fragrances fill our home and heads.....lovely!
