If we are peaceful...

If we are peaceful,
if we are happy,
we can smile and blossom like a flower
and everyone in our family,
our entire society,
will benefit from our peace.

~ Thich Nhat Hanh, Being Peace

What is essential...

“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret;
it is only with the heart that one can see rightly,
what is essential is invisible to the eye.”

~ Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
He turns our living room into a playground filled with colour and energy.
And he shows us this sacred world of pure and shameless play.
For us, his parents, it is a lost world. Vanished bit by bit as we grew older.
But he takes us by the hand and leads us back to purity and simplicity.
And while the three of us are sitting on the floor together I realize that all my life I have been searching desperately for the happiness that was already present....and always will be.

There is a candle in your heart...

“There is a candle in your heart, ready to be kindled.
There is a void in your soul, ready to be filled.
You feel it, don't you?”

~ Rumi
These dark days filled with rain, fog, festivities and candlelight are always the most intense days of the year for me. They bring the joy of family and the comfort of our home but they also have a darker side, which forces me to look inside. Old deeply hidden fears and emotions come to the surface again.

And as the year nears its end it is a beautiful time to come to terms with all these matters of the heart...
Thank you for being here and take care, xxx!

Home

Where thou art  - that - is Home.

~ Emily Dickinson
These dark days are quiet, slow and lovely. We are listening to Saint Nicholas-songs and preparing for 5 December. I love this time of year, it reminds me of my childhood, dark evenings at home reading and crafting. Safe, warm and creating my own magical world.

Spending time together as a family these days feels so pure and lovely. I am truly blessed...
Take care dear friends, sending a big hug to all of you, xxx!
