Yesterday I found these beauties tucked away under my garden plants. Their greens are so intense and beautiful. Recently I embraced the thought that I share my garden with the creatures that live in it, instead of destroying half of them in order to keep my garden visually perfect. Oh, what a relief I can tell you! We have 8 different kinds of lice now and my Hostas look like Swiss cheese, but who cares? Lots of intriguing creatures to discover for my baby boy.
My son will see enough concrete during his life I guess. As long as he is still crawling around in our garden I want him to see the magical insects of my own youth. Woodlice, flies, spiders, grubs, slugs, ants, beetles, worms, butterflies, bees, ladybugs, bumblebees, caterpillars, earwigs, and lice in all colors of the rainbow!
I still cherish the encounters with those intriguing creatures during my childhood. I could poke around in our hedge for hours. And I brought all my discoveries home to show my mamma. Who was not amused but never showed that to me. Lovely isn't it?!
Hmmm, Lots of creepy crawlies (bugs)around for your son to investigate. He is going to enjoy all of them. How thoughtful of you, Sas to let him and them enjoy your garden together :-)
