Mellow Yellow

I just love sunflowers! Everything about them seems so warm and full of life.
They bring something mellow to a garden.
And are just the kind of flowers a child draws
and that is why I love them so much I guess.

They are so brave somehow and not afraid of the Autumn winds and rain,
as they calmly wave their yellow heads above all the other garden plants.
I wish I could crawl on top of one and fall asleep.

But there is little time for sleep as long as my baby boy is discovering the garden too.
I try to let him find his way and not correct him all the time.
Clothes can be washed and there are a lot of things you have to try first before you know it will not stay on your menu.

When you look up close just like he does everything is magical.
I rediscover the world with him and am grateful there is so much beauty surrounding us.

It always moves me to see the faith nature has.
Like this young sunflower who has no idea that winter is coming.
Or does she and enjoys her short life even more?
Just like my favorite poem by Rabindranath Tagore;
'The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough.'

I wish you all a mellow day, with lots of love, sunshine and hairy bees!

  1. Mellow Yellow is a perfect colour to send sunshine our way. Today we were more on the greyish, blueish hues but it was warm enough so it felt quite good.
I love the fact you are letting your son explore his world and also take this opportunity to rediscover yours with him.
I am really glad you are back :-)
